Blue Bell

Cole, Tay-Tay and I went to the Blue Bell creamery this morning. It was a little bit of a car ride but well worth the experience...and ice cream. During the tour, Cole seemed to appreciate all that was going on. He was even able to point out the "lids" of the containers.

Cole just couldn't get his mind off of the tasty ice cream. He thought he'd give his toes a try. Eeewwwhhaaa.

Baby Update

I had an ultrasound and doctor's appointment this morning. Cole and Tay-Tay got to go with me. They were able to see our sweet baby girl during the ultrasound and then played in the waiting room while I spoke to the doctor. Cole made a new friend, Peyton, and got to listen to the "Elephant Song" (probably at least 10 times). He LOVES the Elephant Song and requests it constantly.

Donny and I finally came up with a name for our sweet girl; Leah Patricia Boudreaux. During the ultrasound Cole kept saying "Baby Leah" when she would appear on the screen. It was really cute. Leah is doing great! She is growing strong and weighs about 1lb. 15oz. All is going well. Praise God!

I think we're all getting pretty excited about meeting this little girl. Only 3 months to go.....

Circus

Thanks to Aunt Nell and Tay-Tay we all got to enjoy an evening of circus fun. I don't remember the last time I went to a circus; probably when I was Cole's age, so it was a lot of fun for all of us.

Ooooo cotton candy and Aunt Nell! Needless to say, Cole was on a sugar high the rest of the day. He LOVES cotton candy. It's only second to his Auntie.

The most memorable times were seeing Cole's face and his reaction to each act. Priceless.

Cole was in such awe over all the incredibly dangerous stunts. I really hope he doesn't want to try these things at home.

One of my favorite memories.....I just love seeing Cole and his Daddy play. One of life's sweetest things.

Sea World

We celebrated my Grandmother's 80th birthday by throwing her a party on Saturday. It was nice to see the entire family all at one time. All of my cousin's kiddos are about the same age as Cole so he always has a great time running around with them. Sunday was a "relax" day. We went to church with my folks. It is the same church I went to when I was a kid. Although most things have changed (the pastor, some new people, etc...), I did get to see many of the "old-timers" that were there when I was a child. It was nice to get to visit with them.



Monday, we went to Sea World. Although it was a hot day, there were plenty of places to get in the shade. Cole had no idea what he was in store for. Our first stop; the dolphin exhibit.

My Love, Cole and Pa got some fish and fed the dolphins. Of course Cole was super excited and wanted to touch the dolphin.

Cole was amazed by all the different fish and sting rays. He even loved the sharks. I'm just glad there was a very large piece of glass between me and them.

The first show we saw was the Otter and Sea Lion show. Cole watched intently as the story unfolded.

(I think this guy has gotten bigger since the last time I saw him.)

After lunch we headed to the penguin exhibit and walked My Love over to "The Great White". Then we headed off to the next show. Viva.

Cole was captured by all the acrobats and divers. He clapped a lot during this one. It was truly amazing and entertaining, probably my favorite show of all.

Last but not least we went to see Shamu in the show, Believe. It was a good show, Cole seemed to really enjoy it. Shamu did all of his usual tricks.

That ended our trip to Sea World. It was a hot, long day but worth every minute. It is so neat to see the world through your child's eyes. Their since of innocence, wonder and amazement is just awesome. Cole is awesome!

Wildlife Ranch

Donny was able to take a few extra days off of work so we headed to see my folks for one last visit before our baby girl is born. We got there Thursday night and decided to venture off to the Wildlife Ranch on Friday. Here's some of what we saw when we got there:

Pa, My Love, Grammy and Cole at the petting pen. There were only goats but there were a lot of them. This mama and baby pair seemed to like us. The kid (baby goat) even started nibbling on Grammy's pants at one point.

Cole loved the fact that he could get close to the goats. He chased a few and then stopped to feed this one.

Now we're on the "tour", a 4 mile slow drive around the ranch. We got to see so many animals. It is just so neat to get to admire God's creativity in nature.

Cole of course wanted to touch every animal. This kind deer let him.

He waited for the next bunch of animals to approach the vehicle with great excitement.

And as they passed, he'd turn around to watch them leave. At one point when the ostrich came up to the car, Cole got so excited that he jumped up in the seat and bumped his head on the roof of the car.

We had such a great time. Mainly watching Cole's reaction to all the animals. Cole makes everything ten times more fun. I just LOVE this little boy!

Mini Family Vacation Posts

This past weekend we took a family vacation. This year we decided to stay relatively close to home and not do anything too big. We did however have lots of fun! I really wanted to post all about it this afternoon but I'm afraid I've run out of time. I looked through nearly 300 pictures from the weekend and then I took a nap. My nap lasted longer than I expected and Cole is now awake so I'll have to post all about our trip later tonight or tomorrow. My apologies to those that have been waiting on a new post.

July 4th

The 4th of July brings to mind a lot of different things for many people. Not only does it give us, as a country, a day to celebrate the Independence that we have, it also gives us time to remember all those that fought for us to have our many many freedoms. To me, the 4th of July is all these things and more. It's time to get families together, eat great food and enjoy a day of fun in the sun.

My two "Loves" and I got to go visit the Boudreaux side of the family and spend the entire day together. Here are a few thing that we did:

Papa took My Love and Cole for a ride on the boat while Nick and Brandon rode on the tube.

My Love got to cast net and fish all day. (He was in hog heaven; definitely his element.) When he would catch a small fish or shrimp, he'd show it to Cole. Cole was ok with the fish but really didn't want to touch the shrimp. Who can blame him, they are kind of scary looking. I'm sure when he gets older he'll be fishing right along side of his Daddy. That will be cute.

Aunt Nell and Taunt tried to beat the heat by splashing around in the pool with Cole.



Later in the afternoon, we all sat on the side of the road and watched the local parade. Taunt showed Cole off to the people with the shade. It was so hot they just needed some relief, besides the people thought he was so cute. Aunt Nell taught Cole how to wave the flags. My Love shouldered Cole for the entire time of the parade. He's so strong. Cole loved being up there waving at all the passers by. Some would even throw him candy. He LOVES candy.

I just had to show this picture of a University of Texas golf cart. There were a couple but this is the one I got a picture of. So cool.

We were beat by the end of the day but we had so much fun. Hope you and your family had a great 4th. Next year we'll have two kiddos to celebrate with. I can't wait!
