Just another Saturday

Saturday mornings are probably my most favorite time of the week. Donny gets to play with Cole and show him some of his super hero powers. Cole soaks up the undivided attention SuperDad gives him. It is moments like that that make me fall in love with Donny all over again.

Donny had to spend this afternoon at a work conference so Cole, April and I played and counted the minutes until My Love would return. Cole is really practicing trying to roll over. He can now roll onto his side with no problem and likes to actually lay like this when he sleeps. He also has aced rolling over from his stomach to his back.

He keeps his eyes on April at all times. He gets such a kick out of watching her nudge the ball across the floor. Cole will squeal and jabber at April and she just ignores him. The ball is still the only thing she is interested in. I can't wait until they can be best buds and play together.

Well, My Love is on his way home and I feel like going out. Let's see what fun we can have. More later.

Who does Cole look like?

Well according to the "Look-alike Meter" he is a 50/50 split. But if you ask any relative, they'd say Cole looks like Donny. Maybe some of my traits will show up more later. Just thought this was something fun to play around with. Enjoy.

Easter

Today is my most favorite day of the year; Christmas is a very close second. The reason being because today Jesus conquered the grave! He died for my sins (and yours) and then rose again. This day means so much to me because it reminds me of where I was without Him and where I am now with Him. It also reminds me of where I'll be with Him in the future. Thank you Lord for sacrificing your son for me (and everyone else who chooses to put their faith completely in you).

Donny loves this song by Scott Wenzel (You Gave Everything). It talks about what Christ did for us on the cross. You can view it by clicking on the link below.

If you'd like to know for sure how you can spend eternity in heaven; I'd love to tell you.

Have a very blessed day!

Taylor's Great Idea!

Taylor (Tay-Tay) had a great idea to come visit Cole and the rest of us (me & Donny....not really us....I know.) :) Aunt Nell (Donnel), Taunt (Rachel) and Tay-Tay met us at Willowbrook mall and had hours of fun. Cole is a great shopping buddy. He and Tay-Tay hung out while I did some mad Easter shopping. Donny went to pick up dinner for us. Chili's.....yummm. Well, gotta go, we're going to watch "Click". Tay-Tay even get's to spend the night. Yay! We're going to have so much more fun!

From My Back Porch

I took a picture of the sunrise this morning from our back porch. It's beautiful. Not the prettiest one I've seen but still amazing. The clouds are moving so swiftly as the sun rises to wake the earth. The birds are singing their morning melodies, the baby is sleeping and April, well she's April....she wants to play ball. As I was sitting there just looking out and listening to the day begin, I thanked God. I thanked Him for giving me such a wonderful husband; I thanked Him for giving me such a precious son; I thanked him for His creation (even though it seems we as a world are destroying it's beauty faster than anything); I thanked Him for the loving family he placed me in; I thanked Him for great friends past and present; I just couldn't help but thank Him. It is not often that I take the time to slow down enough to just "see" God. Today, I'm glad I did.

A Hard Day's Work

Well it's spring and we all know what that means...yep, you've got it.....yard work. This would be the first time we have had to do yard work since Cole was born (besides me pulling weeds from the flower bed). Team Boudreaux tackled the 1/3 acre lot that we have. You know Donny always says that the thing he loves about our home is the big back yard and the thing he doesn't like about our home is our big back yard. It takes all of us to get the job done. I'm gunning for Cole's job. ;) I'm only kidding. I'm one of those weird people who actually enjoys yard work. Anyhow, I feel so very blessed to have Donny and Cole. They are the best!

Inspired

So I've been reading my friend Erica's blog and she posted about another woman that has a blog, Pioneer Woman. I think I spent an hour reading about her life with her love, kids and life as a ranchers wife (which by the way, she was no where near a country girl.....she lived in LA..........and owned only one pair of blue jeans....). I have enjoyed her tales of their life on the ranch together and just simply her journey through life. She has inspired me to write about mine. I'm not sure I will post my story but I would like for my son and any future children that I have to see me through my eyes. Anyhow, I just wanted to let Erica and Pioneer Woman know that they both are incredible women that have truly inspired me.

On a side note, Cole is so precious. Even though he doesn't feel good, he still knows how to play. What a cutie. That's my boy.

First Cold

Well the inevitable happened. Cole got his first cold. His little immune system is fighting its first battle. I expected him to catch something once he started "school". We took him to the doctor last night just to make sure it wasn't anything serious. With all the viruses going around I feel you can never be too cautious. He had a fairly high fever last night at midnight. Needless to say, there wasn't a whole lot of sleep going on at our house last night. Even when Cole is sick, he is still so adorable. The only way he rested last night was for me to hold him and pat his bottom. This morning he still had a slight fever so I decided to keep him home from school today. He's been taking some naps which helps me out because I have work to get done today. I put him in his stroller or swing and go to work (in my home office). He's been so good, I've almost written a full report. It's a juggle but I figure all mommyhood is a juggle. I love every minute of it too. Please say a prayer for our little one and ask God to heal him quickly (and if that's not in His plans, pray for comfort.) I'll keep you posted.

A Surprise Visit

Donny went on a men's retreat this weekend and had a great time. There's just something to be said about a man that desires a close relationship with God, desires to be a role model for his children and a godly husband. I'm so glad Donny was able to attend this year (even if it was on our 5 year anniversary). While he was away, Cole and I were planning to hang out with Marianne and Jasmine but Marianne got sick so our plans were canceled. :( BUT Cole and I got to go visit Grammy and Pa. :) It was a spur of the moment surprise visit that had them both beaming with joy. They were so happy and excited to see us in spite of having a lot going on this weekend. I was glad that we were able to help a little with the work and brighten up their weekend by just being there. As always, it was a very nice visit. We love you Pa & Grammy!

How You Doin'

I had lots of fun hanging out with Cole this weekend. He played on his play-mat and even stretched to reach a hanging toy and rolled onto his side. He amazes me every day. We pulled out his Bumbo seat for the first time to see how he liked it. He did great. He's still not sure if he really likes it though. Well, we're off to start another difficult three days. I'm not sure this will ever get any easier.......I have a lot to be thankful for........I'm counting my many many blessings......ok, gotta go.
